The Westmoor Club Foundation Launches to Support Nantucket; Partners with Community Foundation for Nantucket for Grantmaking Expertise
NANTUCKET, MA — In a shared commitment to the island's wellbeing, The Westmoor Club and the Community Foundation for Nantucket are proud to announce a new philanthropic partnership. As part of its 20th anniversary celebration, The Westmoor Club has launched The Westmoor Club Foundation, a newly established charitable entity dedicated to promoting the health and wellness of the Nantucket community. The Foundation will partner with the Community Foundation for Nantucket (CFN), which is also celebrating 20 years of community impact.
The Westmoor Club Foundation builds upon two decades of giving by Club Members who have supported more than 50 local nonprofits through event sponsorships, in-kind donations, and direct contributions. Recognizing the strong desire among Members to make a lasting impact, Club leadership initiated a thoughtful planning process led by Board Chair David Kaytes to explore how best to formalize and expand their charitable efforts.
“There was a clear desire from our Members to create a meaningful way to give back to the Nantucket community,” said Kaytes.
“Launching a foundation felt like a natural evolution of our values, and partnering with the Community Foundation for Nantucket gives us the knowledge and experience to do this work thoughtfully and effectively.” - David Kaytes
Founded in 2005, the Community Foundation for Nantucket has become a trusted philanthropic partner on the island, stewarding more than $46 million in grants over the past two decades. As the grant administrator for The Westmoor Club Foundation, CFN will manage the full grant process - from application review to impact reporting -ensuring that charitable dollars are invested wisely and with care.
“We are thrilled to be working alongside The Westmoor Club Foundation,” said Sunny Daily, Executive Director of the Community Foundation for Nantucket. “This partnership brings together Westmoor’s spirit of generosity and CFN’s 20 years of grantmaking expertise.”
The Westmoor Club Foundation has officially filed for 501(c)(3) status and formed a Board of Governors to lead its work. Its first community grant cycle is expected to launch in 2026, following its inaugural fundraising event, scheduled for Friday, June 26, 2026.
